Straddling the A494 Dolgellau road, The White Lion Royal Hotel is ideally situated for touring North and Mid Wales. One would have difficulty finding a location as well situated as the Bala area, the Lake District of North Wales. There are interesting shops, inns, restaurants and an intriguing town walk. The area's main attraction is Bala Lake or Llyn Tegid, the largest natural lake in Wales, bordered by beautiful scenery and a narrow gauge railway that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
The Welsh white water rafting centre is only 5 kilometres away. Bala lake has canoeing and sailing .
Travel information
From the North:
Exit the M56 j15 onto the M53 heading south (North Wales). Then join the A55. Exit onto the A5104 towards Corwen. Follow this until you reach the Junction with the A5 (Traffic Lights) Turn right toward Betws y Coed. Take a left at the next set of lights onto the A494 towards Bala. As you go over the bridge enter the high street white lion on your right hand side.
From the South:
Access the A5 heading towards Holyhead / North Wales. At the second set of traffic lights after the village of Corwen turn Left. Now follow the A494 until you reach Bala. As you go over the bridge head into main high street White Lion is on your right.
There are a variety of rooms to choose from varying from single occupancy to a family room which can easily accommodate 4 people plus an infant.
