A 400-year-old country inn, in the beautiful and tranquil village of Gwytherin, The Lion offers high-quality accommodation with handmade furniture, traditional Welsh woollen throws, and sumptuous pocket-sprung beds.
Each of the individually decorated, stylish rooms have flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and free Wi-Fi. Every room features picturesque country views, and tea and coffee-making facilities are also available.
The Lion is a family-run inn, and guests can enjoy Fiona’s imaginative home cooking. A full Welsh breakfast is available in the morning, and there is an ever-changing evening meal menu made from wonderful local produce.
Local, real ale can be enjoyed in the traditional bar, with low wooden beams and an open log fire. The bar and restaurant are open from Wednesday to Sunday evening, with evening meals available on Tuesday. Monday night is bed and breakfast only.
Situated on the edge of Snowdonia, The Lion Inn is just a 30-minute drive from Mount Snowdon. The coastal resort of Llandudno is also a 30-minute journey by car.

From the A55:
- Take the exit to Abergele and head into the town.
- Take a left turn onto the A548 heading for Llanrwst.
- After about 5 miles (8 km), turn left onto the A544 to Llansannan.
- After about 4 miles (6.5 km), just before entering the village of Llansannan, take a right turn onto the B5384, signposted to Gwytherin.
- There will be another signposted left turn off this road before you reach the village of Gwytherin.
From the A5:
- Take the A470 at Betws-y-Coed to Llanrwst.
- Follow signs for the A548 to Abergele.
- Approximately 3 miles (5 km) out of Llanrwst, take a right turn to Pandy Tudur.
- Following this road will lead you into the village of Gwytherin.

The Bar and Restaurant are open from Wednesday to Sunday evenings only (restaurant booking essential).
Double Room - Annex
\"The Bothy\" is a double room situated in a detached converted barn with its own entrance. Downstairs is a shower room and small sitting/dressing room with stairs to a bedroom with an apex roof, and a maximum headroom 5 foot 8 inches. The Bothy has a hypo-allergenic pocket-sprung double bed, and views of the fields and hills beyond.
Double or Twin Room
Located in the old part of the Inn \"Rosemary\" has 2 large 3-foot beds. Alternatively these can be joined to make a giant 6-foot double bed. With views of the village square, church and rolling hills beyond, Rosemary also has a spacious shower room.
Family Room (2 Adults + 1 Child)
Located in the new rear part of the Inn \"Sage\" has a hypo-allergenic pocket-sprung double bed and a 3-foot single bed. With views of the fields and hills beyond, Sage also has a spacious bathroom.
Single Room
Located in the old part of the Inn \"Thyme\" has a hypo-allergenic pocket-sprung 3-foot single bed. With views of the village square, church and rolling hills beyond, Thyme has a private shower room.
Classic Double Room
Located in the old part of the inn, \"Lavender\" has a hypo-allergenic pocket-sprung double four-poster bed. With views of the village square, church and rolling hills beyond, Lavender has its own shower room.
Superior Double Room
Located in the new rear part of the inn, \"Parsley\" has a hypo-allergenic pocket-sprung double bed. With views of the fields and hills beyond and French doors opening on to a private balcony, Parsley also has a spacious bathroom.
Cancellation Policy
If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, the first night will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy
Children older than 7 years are welcome.
